Founder and CEO, Blue Stone
2022 Fellow – Tulkarm
I’m a senior, majoring in design and applied arts, and a youth and community activist for nearly seven years.
I love Palestinian villages and countryside, this is what always motivates me to roam the lands.
I realized that we must live in a clean environment free from waste and harm, and this is what always inspired me to start my project: blue Stone, and to persevere despite the challenges.
Millions of shekels are lost annually in Palestine due to the lack of awareness on the importance of solid waste, as only about 1% of the total solid waste in the West Bank and Gaza is recycled, which annually amounts to about 850 thousand tons, according to some estimates.
Recycling in Palestine is carried out through individual initiatives or small projects. So that job opportunities can be created and a better reality can be created.
We at Blue Stone aim to produce environmentally friendly interior stone in new shapes and colors that meet the needs and tastes of customers, and reduce the waste through recycling and reducing the negative impact on the environment in Palestine.
