From Crowdfunding Campaigns to a Bold New Model for Palestinian-led Development

BuildPalestine was founded on a simple yet radical belief: those closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions—and they deserve access to the resources to scale those solutions.

Since 2016, we’ve mobilized our global community to fund Palestinian social innovation through crowdfunding campaigns that go beyond charity—channeling solidarity, creativity, and trust into real, community-rooted change. These campaigns helped dozens of changemakers across historic Palestine launch or sustain their bold, grassroots work.

But crowdfunding was only the beginning.

For decades, billions of dollars have flowed into Palestine through international aid. Yet Palestinians continue to be denied agency over their futures. Much of this funding props up short-term relief efforts or entrenched power structures, reinforcing the very systems that keep our people disempowered.

BuildPalestine is charting a different path—one rooted in community leadership, long-term thinking, and dignity. Our work is a blueprint for detangling development in Palestine from a broken aid system and returning power to those doing the work on the ground.

We’re building a new model. One that funds ideas and the infrastructure behind them.
