TechMed Gaza
Ramha Ahmad
TechMed Gaza provides Palestinian-led mental health and psychosocial support to children and families living through genocide, displacement, injury, and the destruction of the places that should keep them safe. Working with local practitioners and communities, it delivers individual and group activities and uses virtual reality to give children age-appropriate ways to engage, learn, and express themselves.
TechMed has developed virtual reality experiences and delivered sessions with children and families while Gaza’s health services remain under immense pressure. The technology supports the work of specialists and field teams, who assess people’s needs and connect them with further care when needed. Rahma’s aim is to develop Palestinian and Arabic content shaped by the communities using it, and a model of support that local teams can sustain.
