“I see Art to Heart as a beacon of creativity, inclusion, and change—a place where people with disabilities are celebrated for their abilities and contributions, and where the barriers that have long kept them marginalized are broken down.” – Suha Khuffash, founder Art to Heart

At BuildPalestine, we believe that Palestinian resilience takes many forms—including the healing power of inclusive art programs. In Nablus, Art to Heart is leading this vision forward. Founded by Suha Khuffash, this Palestinian social enterprise empowers people with disabilities through art, skill-building, and income-generating opportunities. Supported by BuildPalestine’s Rise program, Art to Heart is creating a model for disability inclusion and economic empowerment rooted in creativity and community.

What Makes Art to Heart Special?

Founded by Suha Khuffash—a longtime cultural practitioner and social change activist—Art to Heart offers programs  that allow participants to express themselves, develop new skills, and create handcrafted arts that are later turned into marketable goods to support their livelihoods. It’s more than a business: it’s a model of inclusion, empowerment, and self-determination.

By channeling art into empowerment and economic opportunity,, Art to Heart demonstrates what we at BuildPalestine believe at our core: that social enterprises can be a path toward a more dignified, sustainable, and liberated future.

Art to Heart’s 2024 Impact

Art to Heart’s vision isn’t just inspiring—it’s working. In 2024 alone, they:

  • Reached 1,120 children through inclusive art programs, including 210 children with disabilities
  • Developed and sold 10+ product lines—from board games,  to coloring books, to  mugs to tote bags—across Palestine and Jordan
  • Maintained an 80% retention rate among children with disabilities, with consistent, measurable progress in life skills, social engagement, academics, and artistic growth

These numbers speak to the transformative potential of Art to Heart—not just as a creative space, but as an evolving ecosystem of healing, learning, and opportunity.

Help Us Scale This Vision

After graduating from BuildPalestine’s Root program, Suha is now a Rise fellow, focused on scaling her social enterprise. This month, we’re partnering with Suha to grow Art to Heart’s impact—and we need your help. Through this campaign, we’re aiming to:

  • Raise $2,000+ in seed funding to sustain Bridges Daytime Club for youth with intellectual disabilities, provide art materials, and subsidize student transportation costs
  • Grow Art to Heart’s online community with 200+ new followers
  • Welcome 30 new email subscribers to their mailing list
  • Host a live webinar to hear Art to Heart’s journey and crowdsource solutions to help them scale
  • Spark new partnerships for regional and international distribution of Art to Heart’s handmade products
