Nourishing Hope for Gaza initiative by BuildPalestine 

As an organization dedicated to building a free and vibrant Palestine, the ongoing genocide in Gaza has filled us with anger, sorrow, and grief.

It has also emboldened our steadfastness and loyalty to our people in Gaza and to our own humanity. We are dedicated to doing what we can to support the people of Gaza in this time of dire need – and this is why we have launched the Nourishing Hope for Gaza initiative. 

What is the Nourishing Hope for Gaza initiative? 

The primary objective of Nourishing Hope for Gaza is to identify, support, and amplify grassroots initiatives in Gaza by facilitating connections between these projects and global networks of donors. By focusing on initiatives that are already ongoing and need a financial boost by supporting their crowdfunding campaigns, we aim to ensure that these efforts receive the visibility and financial support needed to achieve their goals.

How does it work?

Nourishing Hope for Gaza follows a simple yet effective process. First, our team carefully reviews initiatives from Gaza that are ongoing and currently running a crowdfunding campaign to ensure their credibility and impact. Once approved, BuildPalestine works to boost the crowdfunding campaign by mobilizing its network in addition to the partners’ networks. Goals are usually  $5,000-  $10,000 and once the goal is met, we move to the following campaign.  Funds go directly to the campaign’s owner.

Gaza Education Hub

To support university students in Gaza in completing their studies, Palestinian universities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, launched a distance education program in June 2024 using the Moodle platform. This enables students to continue their education and connect with teachers online. The Gaza Education Hub is establishing solar-powered learning centers to provide essential internet access, academic support, and a space for students to finish their university studies.

Colors for Gaza

Colors for Gaza is an initiative that leverages art, education, and entertainment to support children in Gaza. The campaign uses artistic projects to raise funds, focusing on creating vibrant, engaging activities for children. This includes art workshops, educational programs, and entertainment events designed to provide joy and learning opportunities amidst challenging circumstances. By integrating creativity and fun, Colors for Gaza aims to enhance the well-being and development of young people in Gaza, offering them enriching experiences and essential support.

Hakini

Hakini, (“tell me”, in Arabic), is an online Arabic therapy platform that uses guidance for self-help intervention, teletherapy, and AI to increase accessibility to mental health care in the Arab world.
Since the horrific ongoing aggression began, Hakini rushed to take immediate action to provide mental health support in these traumatizing humanitarian crises Gazans are going through. With the support of BuildPalestine, a crowdfunding campaign was launched to install a toll-free hotline, provide on-ground sessions, and capacity building.
